MacArthur announced seven grants totaling $2.5 million in support of arts and culture organizations in the Chicago region.
“A robust arts community is critical to the economy and vitality of any healthy city” said Jonathan F. Fanton, President of the MacArthur Foundation. “The arts help to educate and expose people to new experiences and viewpoints. In Chicago, the creative work of our theaters, museums, and other cultural groups has helped to make Chicago a vibrant cultural center and popular tourist destination. MacArthur’s support for the arts is one way we demonstrate our longstanding commitment to our hometown.”
Today’s announcement includes support for the following organizations.
