Residents in Makurdi, Nigeria faced exploitative and inconsistent electricity billing practices, an investigative report by Daily Trust revealed. As a result of the report, Jos Electricity Distribution revised its practices to stabilize electricity access and improve the accuracy of billing. Community members report that they have less erratic electricity flows and that the exorbitant bills have declined in frequency since the reporting.
