A report on a randomized control trial found that a mobile health intervention in Gujarat, India, to increase maternal, neonatal, and child healthcare coverage prevented 11 infant deaths per 1,000 live births. Conducted by Sewa Rural, the intervention helped community health workers deliver care in rural communities by improving mobile telecommunication and clinical and diagnostic tools. The MacArthur-supported study also found that the program was cost-effective and would become more efficient over time.
