Agora Policy released a report analyzing the effectiveness of 16 transparency and accountability measures in Nigeria aimed at reducing corruption. As the government transitions after the national election, MacArthur grantee Agora Policy notes the need to take stock and recommit to transparency and accountability. The report focused on four different areas: norms and values, public financial management, open disclosure, and sanctions. Recommendations include strengthening legal backing, enforcing and implementing existing laws, improving capacity and funding for existing agencies to implement anti-corruption measures, and collaborating across government.
