Scaling renewable energy in India is critical for a transition to a low carbon economy and, if done well, could create jobs, expand clean energy access, and reduce pollution. Grantee The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is collaborating to scale a responsible and just renewable energy sector in India and Asia with The Responsible Energy Initiative. They shared the vision and principles guiding the work for a responsible renewable ecosystem: including cultivating resilient ecological systems, a commitment to participatory governance, and supporting inclusive communities in the process. The Initiative engages investors, developers, and manufacturers to set and enact new norms that center social justice and ecological safety.
