Fewer Americans rate terrorism as a “critical” threat to the United States than at any point since September 11, 2001. With support from MacArthur, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs conducted a national survey for the report Foreign Policy in the New Millennium. Researchers found that in addition to a steady decline in the intensity of concern about terrorism, most Americans do not credit the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan with reducing said threat.
