
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled the state’s mandatory lifetime sex offender registration requirement for juveniles to be unconstitutional. The Juvenile Law Center, a grantee and recipient of the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions, represented youth in the case, which relied on a recent U.S. Supreme Court case law affirming how children are different from adults – a resolution informed by research from the MacArthur Research Network on Adolescent Development and Juvenile Justice.
