Connecticut, Washington, Utah, Minnesota, and Oregon lead the nation in evidence-based policymaking, according to a report from the Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative. The report compares how states fare in integrating evidence into policymaking decisions in four policy areas: criminal justice, juvenile justice, behavioral health, and child welfare. The report describes how states have implemented evidence-based policymaking initiatives and examples of state laws and statutes that have advanced evidence-based policymaking.
