The Manual for the Defense of Victims of Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment provides lawyers with a practical guide for presenting torture cases in court. The Spanish-language guide was developed by Instituto de Justicia Procesal Penal and Fundar, Centro de Análisis e Investigación, two MacArthur grantees focused on due process and human rights promotion in Mexico. The guide draws from both domestic and international law and outlines in a practical way the tools that victims and their lawyers can use in court.
