A Spanish-language report presents findings from systematic documentation of human rights crimes Mexican security agencies committed while fighting drug trafficking and organized crime, recorded by the Comision Mexicana de Defensa y Promocion de los Derechos Humanos (Mexican Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Human Rights). The report helps improve understanding of the structures that enable state authorities to operate with impunity. The Commission, a MacArthur-grantee, aims to illuminate state impunity and contribute to the understanding of Mexico’s human rights abuses since 2006, contributing a new narrative.
