Labor rights, migrant rights, and anti-trafficking organizations have come together to raise awareness of immigrant worker abuse and to call on Congress to address their concerns. In the report The American Dream Up for Sale, a diverse group of organizations, including MacArthur grantees the Centro de Derechos del Migrante, the Global Workers Justice Alliance, and the Alliance for Ethical Recruitment, states that abuse of internationally recruited workers is rampant under current worker programs and visa categories. The report details abuses of immigrant workers and provides recommendations for reform, including a thorough overhaul of work visa programs and regulation of recruitment practices.
