A survey by the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication finds that 58 percent of Americans believe climate change is mostly human-caused, the highest level measured since the surveys began in 2008. The MacArthur-supported poll also found that four out of 10 Americans think the odds that global warming will cause humans to become extinct are 50 percent or higher. When asked what the most important reason is to reduce global warming, one in four people said to provide a better life for their children and grandchildren.
