A second round of grants totaling $1.4 million will go to 10 project developers to support preparations for expanded distributed solar power throughout India, part of about $20 million that will be deployed through the U.S.-India Clean Energy Finance Initiative (USICEF). The initiative is the first-ever commitment between the United States and Indian governments to mobilize financing for Indian clean energy projects. MacArthur and other funders, including the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Good Energies Foundation, the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, and the Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust are supporting USICEF's operations.
