San Jose-based community lender The Opportunity Fund has won the $100,000 NEXT Seed Capital Award for its innovative EasyPay financing product, which allows small businesses in distressed markets to repay loans through their credit and debit card sales. The Award, administered by MacArthur supported Opportunity Finance Network, will be granted to one community development financial institution for each of the next five years to support a product or geographic expansion. MacArthur has been a leading supporter of the opportunity finance field since the early 1980s, investing nearly $250 million in approximately 100 groups nationwide.
