Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and Shaun Donovan, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary, announced two new community development funding opportunities in which arts organizations are eligible to partner with state and local governments, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, philanthropic and nonprofit organizations, and other eligible applicants to develop grant proposals. Up to $100 million in grants are available through the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program, and up to $75 million is available through the Sustainable Communities Challenge Grant Program. This is the first time that HUD and the NEA have co-convened the arts and creative sector nationally about funding opportunities.
