A grant fund at the International Documentary Association will provide $1 million annually for four years in production and development grants to nonfiction filmmakers taking on in-depth exploration of contemporary stories through a journalistic lens. The IDA Documentary/Journalism Project will also provide mentorship, trianing, and access to resources for both grantees and the broader field, and support their work through the development of a network of partner organizations focused on legal resources, research tools, and other services. The Project will engage an advisory committee made up of filmmakers and jouranlists to provide 10 production grants of between $75,000 to $100,000 to films in production. Additionally, the Project will provide 10 to 15 development grants in a range of $10,000 to $15,000 each to films in early stages.
