The nonprofit news organization Chicago Reporter has created an interactive and searchable database of the City of Chicago’s settlements in police misconduct cases, including officer names, demographic details of the plaintiffs, and type of misconduct. The Reporter, which is supported by MacArthur, also published an investigative report detailing how the City has paid $210 million in settlements in such police misconduct cases between 2012 and 2015, largely from policing incidents in black and Latino communities.
