Crowdsourced captions

Crowdsourced video captioning platform Amara launched an improved YouTube integration that allows any YouTube video producer to crowdsource the subtitling of videos. The development will help users provide support for deaf viewers and international audiences by inviting others to collaborate in captioning videos in dozens of languages. Amara started out as a MacArthur supported project of the Participatory Culture Foundation. To date, Amara's users have created more than 180,000 subtitled videos across 238 languages.
