Artists who engage public issues affecting Asian American and Pacific Islander in the U.S. can catalyze conversation and action. This is the goal of the Creative Catalyst Fellowship from the AAPI Civic Engagement Fund, which supports more accurate, authentic, and nuanced narratives about the diversity of Asian American and Pacific Islanders’ movements and communities. Artists who practice a variety of artforms, like music, video, visual arts, performing arts, and poetry, are eligible for the $30,000 contract to create work on themes of In it Together, Belonging Together, and Voting Together. Fellows from past years have produced projects ranging from webcomics to drawings to films.
