Rideback Rise

The Writers Guild Foundation (WGF) preserves and promotes the history and craft of writing for the screen and works to create pathways for young people from underserved backgrounds to pursue screenwriting and filmmaking careers. The WGF is helping to launch Rideback Rise, a new initiative to accelerate dramatically the careers of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) creatives working to develop and produce projects for the mainstream entertainment industry. This grant provides flexible project support to launch this endeavor and begin to identify a first class of Rise Fellows. The intended outcome is the creation and mass marketing of more film, television, and digital content made by BIPOC creatives, and more popular culture narratives that reflect a diverse America.
