The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is dedicated to research and education to advance understanding of the ocean, and to communicating this understanding for the benefit of society. This grant will support a multi-part research and outreach project to study coastal climate change impacts and develop adaptation solutions. The project has a regional focus on Buzzards Bay and southern New England, but the recommendations that emerge from this work are anticipated to have application in other coastal regions of the U.S.
To support the research project Environmental Security and the World Ocean: Analytical Approaches and Shared Solutions, under the direction of James Broadus, in collaboration with Tundi Agardy, Lawson Brigham, Jonathan Charney, Raphael Vartanov, Artemy Saguirian, Uriy Baresegov, and Ann Bistrova (over two years).
To support the Workshop on Soviet Maritime Arctic Policy.
