The documentary film, Survivors, produced by WeOwnTV, explores the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone from a local perspective. The film follows three Sierra Leoneans who are working to eradicate the disease in the capital city of Freetown. The filmmakers achieve intimate access to the daily lives of these workers, providing a multidimensional view of both their struggles and the triumphs, as Sierra Leone faces the horrifying outbreak. The intended outcome is a feature length film for U.S. and international audiences that will create a greater understanding of both the 2014 Ebola outbreak, and the social and personal context in which it struck.
