The Washington State Institute for Public Policy will use this grant to expand the capacity of its cost-benefit model to measure net benefits of public investment and evaluate taxpayer returns in two policy areas--evidence-based practices in local policing strategies, and state programs to increase high school graduation rates--that are of interest to the Washington State Legislature and other states participating in a Foundation-funded project that assists these states to adapt the WSIPP approach to evidence-based policymaking.
To advance the use of evidence and cost-benefit analysis in state government policymaking (over two years).
