Grants

2022 (1 year)
$150,000

Wallace House Center for Journalists at the University of Michigan is the home to three programs: the Knight-Wallace Fellowship, a year-long residency for professional journalists to take a break from their careers to reset and gain new knowledge; the Livingston Award, which honors journalists under the age of 35 for outstanding reporting in local, national, and international reporting; and Wallace House Presents, a speaker series featuring leaders in journalism. This grant enables Wallace House to support exiled Russian and Ukrainian journalists who need assistance in resettling to the United States. Since the 1970’s, Wallace House has provided a safe haven for journalists from around the world. Grant funds will be used to cover the costs of resettlement, travel, housing, living stipends, and administrative expenses. The grant is part of MacArthur’s special response to the War in Ukraine.
