Vishnu Law Group

Vishnu Law Group is a Cambodian public interest law firm that works to advance good governance and the rule of law through policy analysis and strategic litigation. By invitation of the government of Cambodia, Vishnu has advised the Ministry of Environment in drafting a new comprehensive Environmental Code. The code is anticipated to be approved by the end of 2017, and transform the mandate and authority of the Ministry. This award supports Vishnu Law Group to undertake multi-stakeholder processes to identify priorities and guidance for implementing the new Environmental Code for Cambodia.

Vishnu Law Group is a Cambodian public interest law firm that works to advance good governance and the rule of law through both policy analysis and strategic litigation. Vishnu is advising Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment in drafting a new comprehensive Environmental Code. The code will transform the mandate and authority of the Ministry. It also creates an opportunity to revisit and reshape the protected area system overseen by the Ministry. The intended outcome of the project is a national system of parks and protected areas that is more sensible in size, better targeted on current priorities, and more effectively managed.
