USENIX Association

The award supports the 9^th USENIX Workshop on Free and Open Communications on the Internet (FOCI) taking place on August 13^th, 2019 in Santa Clara, CA. FOCI brings together researchers and practitioners form technology, law and policy who are working on means to study, detect, or circumvent practices that inhibit free and open communications on the Internet.

The USENIX Association, or the Advanced Computing Association, seeks to foster technical excellence and innovation; supports and disseminates research with a practical bias; provides a neutral forum for discussion of technical issues; and, encourages computing outreach into the community at large. The award supports the 7th USENIX Workshop on Free and Open Communications on the Internet taking place August 14th, 2017, in Vancouver, Canada. The workshop convenes researchers and practitioners from technology, law, and policy who are working on means to study, detect, or circumvent practices that inhibit free and open communications on the Internet.
