University of Washington, eScience Institute

The University of Washington’s eScience Institute was founded in 2005 to bring the tools and techniques of data science to bear across research at the university. The eScience Institute is developing a Seattle MetroLab that will bring multiple domains of expertise at the University of Washington - data science, urban social science, and cyber-physical systems - together with policy leaders at the City of Seattle to launch new applied research and policy projects, and build shared infrastructure to support them, including a data portal.
