Said Business School (SBS), founded at Oxford University in1996, is home to the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and plays an active role in the fast-growing field of impact investing. The school is committed to interdisciplinary research, with a particular focus on entrepreneurship and innovative business education, and has strong connections to practitioners, policymakers, and academics at the national and international levels. This grant will enable SBS to undertake a global literature review of all academic research to date on impact investing. By identifying key gaps, the project should pave the way for SBS and others to pursue a more robust future research agenda aimed at informing policy, practice, and further market development.

The Saïd Business School (SBS) at Oxford University recently launched a professional development program for executives from NGOs, philanthropic foundations, financial institutions, financial-advisory consulting firms, academic institutions, government agencies, and social enterprises from across the globe to study impact investing and learn from practitioners. SBS will use this grant to provide scholarships for attendees from NGOs and social enterprises, enabling them to learn more about impact investing theory, models, and approaches, and to be better positioned to raise capital for their needs.
