The University of New Hampshire Foundation’s Carsey Center for Impact Finance seeks to address the role that access to capital plays in turning the tide on widening income inequality and building a more sustainable future. With this award, the Carsey Center for Impact Finance is convening and providing capacity support to community development leaders to realize the promise of the $27 billion Green House Gas Reduction Fund within the recently enacted Inflation Reduction Act. Outputs include the production and wide dissemination of short briefing documents with strategies to equitably serve communities, estimate deployment potential in underserved communities, assess the financial product terms needed by communities/end-users, provide suggestions for capacity-building and market development, and make recommendations for how to maximize community co-benefits. This work directly supports community development leaders, and, by extension, the historically marginalized communities that these critical institutions serve.
