Founded in 1853, the University of Melbourne is an Australian public research university. This project examines verification of the Iran nuclear agreement (the Joint Comprehensive Program of Action) in the wake of the United States’ decision to withdraw in May 2018. Funds are used to produce a report, as well as regular short updates posted to the existing nuclear governance website hosted by Melbourne University.

The award provides support for research and engagement to ensure sustainability of the nuclear security agenda after the final Nuclear Security Summit is held in Washington, D.C. in March 2016. It focuses on the role the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) could play in advancing and sustaining the agenda, and aims to feed its recommendations on the IAEA into the Summit process.
