Through a combination of research, education, and community engagement, the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement (IPCE) at the University of Illinois-Chicago creates opportunities for scholars, students, and community members to actively participate in public discourse on policy issues and social trends. Its 2015 report entitled “Chicago Area Leadership Development Scan” explored the landscape of leadership development programs in the Chicago region, identifying a wide variety of 166 different programs. This grant supports IPCE to update its 2015 report with an emphasis on programs designed for (a) college-educated working professionals or (b) community-based nonprofit staff members.
