University of Chicago, Harris School of Public Policy, Center for Effective Government

The University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy hosts the Center for Effective Government. The Center is a nonpartisan academic initiative that aims to strengthen democratic institutions and improve the capacity of government to solve public problems. With this award, the Center provides a nonpartisan, educational orientation and retreat for alderpersons elected in 2023, who represent one quarter of the 50 seats on the City Council.
