The Cultural Policy Center, based at the University of Chicago, supports the arts community by researching important applied and theoretical issues, convening conversations about critical topics, and teaching graduate students in the humanities, social sciences, and policy fields about the arts. As the newly envisioned Global Center for Arts and Culture Research, it will serve as a central information hub and convening point for what is currently a fragmented cultural policy research community. Its goal is to provide and promote research that will inform decision-making, challenge conventional approaches to the arts, and drive innovation in arts practice, policy, and scholarship. Grant funds will be used to support the planning and creation of the Center.
