The grant will support Lifeline: Embattled NGO Fund, which was established by the U.S. and 12 likeminded governments in response to the growing backlash against frontline human rights defenders in countries around the globe. Grant money will be used by a seven-member NGO Consortium that carries out the Fund’s activities, which are designed to quickly meet the emergency needs of NGOs when they get into trouble as a result of their work.
