The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) aims to contribute to global peace and security, human rights, and development, by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption, and terrorism, by promoting justice and the rule of law, and by building resilient societies. This award supports the production of the third national survey on corruption prevalence and costs in Nigeria and policy recommendations for improving anti-corruption and accountability responses at federal, state, and local government levels. The award strengthens collaboration between UNODC and major national and state-level anti-corruption and accountability institutions to deepen ownership and nurture the local capacity for the survey. Principal partners to the project include the National Bureau of Statistics, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. UNODC will coordinate with other Foundation grantees in implementing the grant. The award is expected to contribute to On Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption and strengthening accountability, transparency, and participation.
