TransLash Media is a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing digital, video, audio, and interactive reporting, and nonfiction storytelling by and about transgender people in the United States. This grant supports general operations for TransLash Media, including helping it grow its capacity and continue to produce its investigative and explanatory podcast series, The Anti-Trans Hate Machine, which will launch Season Two in 2023. The expected outcomes of this grant are more factual, in-depth, and nuanced news and narratives about trans people in the United States, which will contribute to greater public understanding.

By producing podcasts, documentary series, and multiplatform media projects, TransLash Media works to create greater understanding of the diverse trans community and advocates for greater protection and support for trans people of color. This grant supports general operations. The outcomes of this grant are creating greater opportunities for transgender people in the United States to tell their stories and have their experiences and concerns reflected in journalistic series and investigations; reaching wide audiences; and contributing to the conditions for greater understanding.
