Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, a project of the Tides Center, is a national network of over 600 foundation professionals representing a broad diversity of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and religious affiliation. Its purpose is to help philanthropy professionals who are younger and from groups typically underrepresented in philanthropy to succeed in this field, and to help create opportunities for professional growth in a field that has traditionally been slow to become more diverse. Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy hosts and develops educational programs and networking events, and works closely with regional associations of grantmakers as well as national organizations such as the Council on Foundations.
