The Obama Foundation does this through programs that develop youth, build leaders across the world, and elevate the ideals of a fully participatory democracy. In all its efforts, the Obama Foundation seeks to create a world with more opportunity, participation, and trust - one in which each individual is inspired to strengthen their communities and bring change home.
The Obama Foundation's mission is to inspire, empower, and connect people to change their world. The Obama Foundation moves people from hope to action in order to support the core values that are the underpinning of a healthy democracy. It strengthens democratic culture through its amplification of the values that underpin democracy, its program investments in individual and organizational leadership, and the Obama Presidential Center, a hub for civic engagement. With this award, the Obama Foundation produces the Democracy Forum, a convening that will include over 1,000 young leaders and influencers, democracy and technology practitioners, academics and thought leaders, and funders. The Forum is expected to identify and advance new and powerful solutions that build greater trust in our institutions, leverage new leaders and technologies, and renew our democratic culture.
