Texas Organizing Project Education Fund

Since its founding in 2009, Texas Organizing Project’s Education Fund (TOPEF) has grown to be one of the largest grassroots organizations in the state with the capacity to engage in year-round community organizing. With its 313,000 volunteers, the organization works to improve the lives of resource-constrained Texas families of color by building power through community organizing and civic engagement. Leadership development is the cornerstone of TOPEF’s organizing model, which operates in Dallas, Harris, Fort Bend, and Bexar counties. This award provides general operating support to Texas Organizing Project’s Education Fund programs, which will develop the skills and capacities of resource-constrained individuals and transform everyday people into community leaders and outspoken representatives of their community.
