The Sorenson Impact Center, based at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, assists organizations in achieving their impact vision for an equitable and thriving world where everyone is valued, communities prosper, and measured impact guides investment decision-making. The Center has partnered with SOCAP, an organization that seeks to accelerate movement toward a more just and sustainable economy by convening a global ecosystem and marketplace through live and digital experiences that educate, spur conversation, and inspire investment. Through this collaboration, SOCAP has transitioned its leadership and day-to-day operations to the Center through an administrative services agreement. The Foundation’s award helps enable this important collaboration in delivering the 2024 SOCAP Global Forum and supports areas of strong strategic alignment and programmatic priorities such as racial equity, Indigenous leadership, and increasing the flow of catalytic capital to make progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Center is entering into a partnership with SOCAP, an organization that seeks to accelerate movement toward a more just and sustainable economy by convening a global ecosystem and marketplace through live and digital experiences that educate, spur conversation, and inspire investment. Through this collaboration, SOCAP is transitioning its leadership and day-to-day operations to the Center through an administrative services agreement. The Foundation’s award supports this important collaboration, along with SIC’s Impact Summit in 2023, including: a) the 2022 and 2023 SOCAP Global Forum flagship events; b) SOCAP Spectrum, a convening focused on addressing the urgent need for racial equity and inclusion across capital markets; c) scholarships for more than 150 entrepreneurs to attend SOCAP Global; and d) an Indigenous Scholarship Fund, where SOCAP has committed to providing support and scholarships for indigenous peoples to attend the flagship conference. The Foundation’s funding acknowledges and enables the leadership of the Sorenson Impact Center in maintaining and stabilizing this critical SOCAP convening platform for the field of impact investing, and supports areas of strong strategic alignment with Foundation strategy and programmatic priorities such as racial equity and Indigenous leadership.
