The Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) is a global nonprofit membership organization with over 2,700 members representing diverse organizations involved in the field of “inclusive finance,” which aims to ‘deliver financial services at affordable costs to disadvantaged and low-income segments of society.’ Formed a decade ago, SPTF has led work on social performance (i.e., impact) measures in financial inclusion, organizing a variety of working groups and larger convenings and helping its members learn from each other. The proposed project aims to encourage the use of common terminology and prevent duplication among the growing number of frameworks  for classifying, measuring and monitoring the economic, environmental and social impact of investments spanning diverse sectors and geographies.
