Foundation for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship (FISE) is a non-profit that aims to alleviate poverty and address India’s development challenges by enabling social enterprises to access capital, build a talented workforce, and create scalable business models. This award enables FISE to create alternative economic pathways for the state of Jharkhand, by unlocking the potential of social entrepreneurship, and diversify the economy beyond the current dependence on fossil fuels and allied heavy industries. To make the state future-ready and transition-proof, FISE curates and scales-up proven solutions in the fields of livelihood generation, skills augmentation, land and soil revival, agriculture, and use of decentralized renewable energy for farm and non-farm productive uses. The award also allows FISE to launch its popular scouting platform called ‘Techtonic’ to identify and accelerate 15 social enterprises in collaboration with the Government of Jharkhand. The award facilitates the growth of sustainable enterprises that contribute positively to Jharkhand's economic transformation as it moves away from fossil fuels.
