Shared-Use Mobility Center

Founded in 2014, the Shared-Use Mobility Center (SUMC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving equitable, affordable, and environmentally sound mobility across the United States by efficiently sharing transportation assets. SUMC seeks to extend the benefits of shared mobility for all. It accomplishes its mission through knowledge creation and education, practical knowledge deployment, and demonstrating the potential of innovative technologies. SUMC proposes to research how increasing access to alternative forms of transportation might impact household transportation costs and workforce opportunities for Chicago's low-income residents.
