SacRed Purposes, Inc

SacRed Purposes, Inc., represents the entity overseeing the non-profit organization, Indigenous American Institute of Legacy (I.Am.Legacy). I.Am.Legacy is an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization focused on providing services and programming to at-risk youth, justice-system involved individuals, and families who are impacted by the criminal justice system. The organization is based on Lakota values and culture, and works to build the collective health, healing, wellness, productivity, and progress of Indigenous peoples. The award supports the development of a Native American and Indigenous People Network to help Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC) sites and non-SJC sites address the disproportionate representation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system. The award also supports the development of an Indigenous led network of leaders of local criminal justice reform.
