Rebuild the Hood

Rebuild the Hood, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 2017 to "revitalize distressed neighborhoods via investment in small businesses and Real Estate." A variety of programs and workshops focus on addressing economic growth and sustainability in distressed and impoverished neighborhoods in the Chicago area. Its first-time homeowner workshops engage aspiring homeowners who are looking to purchase their first property. Its financial literacy for families workshops help participants learn the basics of money management. In the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, this award supports a series of online convenings on financial literacy and first-time home buying, as well as a professional development opportunity for staff.
