Founded in 2010, Reboot is a for-profit, social impact organization dedicated to making powerful institutions work in the interest of the people. Reboot works with governments, civil society organizations, and philanthropies to solve civic problems. Headquartered in New York City with a regional office in Abuja, Nigeria, Reboot focuses on three main areas of work: strengthening institutions, governance, and media. With this award, Reboot documents and disseminates case studies of anti-corruption and accountability success stories in Nigeria. Reboot is collaborating with the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Foundation, another On Nigeria grantee, to enhance the Yar’Adua Foundation’s online repository of anti-corruption and accountability tools and activities.
With offices in New York and Nigeria, Reboot is a social impact firm dedicated to inclusive development and accountable governance. The organization works with governments, foundations, and civil society to achieve their missions. With this award, Reboot is providing technical assistance and coordination support to journalism and media organizations in Nigeria, including Foundation grantees. The organization is also carrying out research on the media landscape; supporting journalism and media organizations to develop and test sustainable business models; and strengthening investigative and data-driven journalism skills. The project contributes to expanding the network of investigative journalists, promoting the culture of investigative work in Nigeria’s media, and strengthening the capacity of media organizations. Reboot works closely with other Foundation grantees to implement the project.
