The Raven Indigenous Impact Foundation, an Indigenous-centered and -led registered Charity, seeks to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples on Turtle Island (North America) through research and development. Through this award, the organization is hosting an in-person Indigenous Impact Academy and retreat that is bringing together an emerging cohort of Indigenous company founders to focus on cultural capacity building, impact training, and foundational entrepreneurial skill development. In addition, it will conduct a research and development project to deliver a report on Indigenous impact investing in the United States, a handbook on Indigenous protocols, and decolonized investment tools including (but not limited to) Shareholder Agreements. Both elements of this project are intended to benefit emerging Indigenous business leaders and the broader Native economic ecosystem in the United States, ultimately seeking to improve the wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples in the United States.
