Purpose Global is a social impact and movement incubator with a mission of inspiring people to reimagine the world and harness their power to make change happen. The Purpose Climate Lab brings innovation and experimentation to solving the climate crisis and has been pivotal in advancing climate solutions across nine countries. In India, Purpose has been working on advancing climate solutions by building effective and contextual hyperlocal narratives to elevate climate justice with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. The award ensures concrete action toward decarbonization of the brick kiln industry in the state of Uttar Pradesh and implementation of the Brick Kiln Action Plan.

Purpose is a U.S.-based public benefit company that supports social impact campaigns and organizations through education, public engagement, and awareness efforts. It runs a designated Climate Lab that works to simplify climate issues and build actionable programs around solar energy, industrial decarbonization, and public perception about climate change. This award enables Purpose to engage with multiple stakeholders in the state of Uttar Pradesh (India) to develop an equitable transition plan for economically disadvantaged communities engaged within the brick-making sector. This plan redefines the operating standards and enables a technology-led, equitable transition within the sector. To facilitate this, the award allows Purpose to engage with brick kiln owners and the people dependent on the sector for their livelihoods.
