ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit journalism organization that conducts investigative reporting in the public interest. Based in New York City, with three additional reporting hubs in the Midwest, South and Southwest, ProPublica pursues high impact investigations across numerous platforms on issues including government and politics, business, criminal justice, the environment, education, health care, immigration, and technology. Its reporting has contributed to the passage of new laws, reversals of harmful policies and practices, and accountability for leaders across all levels. This grant provides general operating support for ProPublica to continue publishing impactful investigative journalism, and refine its approach to local reporting and partnerships.

This institutional grant will be used to increase ProPublica’s cash reserve.
