The People’s Music School creates access to high-quality, tuition-free music education in Chicago with a curriculum grounded in music lessons, ensemble work, music theory, and performance. The People’s Music School serves 850 students each year in after-school programs and 400 students in its in-school program. With four locations in Chicago, the People’s Music School is dedicated to serving students aged five to 18 years of age, the vast majority of whom come from lower-income households and 90 percent of whom are people of color.
